Registration is now open for OKPCA's fourth cohort of Community Health Worker (CHW) training through Medical Home Network (MHN). Register today!

CHWs, care coordinators, enrollment staff, and other care team members interested in providing CHW services are eligible to apply to participate in the training program. Attendance in the in-person sessions is required. Up to one virtual session can be viewed asynchronously, but participation in all sessions is required to sit for the competency exam. Participants who fully complete this training (including in-person and virtual sessions) and pass the competency assessment will receive a $1,000 stipend. This funding is made available through a legislative appropriation of State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds.

To provide the training to OKPCA members, OKPCA partnered with Medical Home Network (MHN), an organization with extensive experience in hiring, training, and overseeing CHWs in community health centers. OKPCA has made initial training cohorts available to member organizations at no direct cost.

Please note that unlike the first three cohorts of this training, there is a mandatory, in-person component. The schedule is listed below:

  • 1/7: Session 1: Orientation (Virtual)
  • 1/14-15: Session 2: Foundations, Motivational Interviewing, and Toolbox (In-Person in OKC)
  • 1/28: Session 3: Disease State - Heart Failure (Virtual)
  • 2/11: Session 4: Disease State - Diabetes (Virtual)
  • 2/25: Session 5: Disease State - Depression (Virtual)
  • 3/11: Session 6: Competency Assessments (Virtual)
  • 3/25: Supervisor Training (Virtual, Supervisors Only)
