OHCA Markets Medicaid Expansion

The Oklahoma Health Care Authority (OHCA) has produced a new series of promotional videos and resources to educate Oklahomans on coverage available through Medicaid expansion. Go to www.okhca.org/publications.
to find flyers and posters in English and Spanish. Two video ads are also available featuring testimonials from Medicaid members who recently found coverage through SoonerCare.
 

OSMA-Led Group Challenges Prohibition on School Mask Mandates

A request for a temporary injunction in a lawsuit challenging the constitutionality of SB0658 is scheduled to be heard Wednesday in Oklahoma County district court. This month, the Oklahoma State Medical Association (OSMA) and a group of parents of Oklahoma public school students filed a lawsuit challenging the constitutionality of a state law prohibiting school districts from implementing mask mandates. Both the Legislature and Governor Stitt are named in the lawsuit, which seeks a temporary injunction to prevent the law from being enforced and a permanent injunction once arguments are heard.
 

OIG Begins Investigating COVID Supplemental Funding


On Friday August 6, Colleen Meiman, a National Policy Advisor for State & Regional Associations of Community Health Centers, heard the first report of a health center being contacted by the Office of the Inspector General, as part of its study of whether health centers are using their supplemental COVID funding as intended.  Colleen is keeping a list of health centers who are contacted by the OIG so that they can share their experiences and lessons learned. Health centers who have been contacted by OIG should email colleen@fachc.org if they would like to be connected with other health centers in the same situation.
